Rush Street Gaming has appointed the seasoned casino industry veteran Eric Althaus as the new general manager of its Rivers Casino Philadelphia.

Althaus, who boasts years of experience in the casino sector, previously served as an assistant general manager at the venue. Prior to that, he served as the property’s vice president of gaming and was tasked with overseeing all gaming operations, including the recent launch of Pulse Arena.

Before joining the company, Althaus occupied various positions at other casino companies. Between 2018 and 2022, for example, he served as the president & general manager of Delaware North’s Mardi Gras Casino & Resort. Before that, he had a short stint as the VP general manager of Gun Lake Casino. Althaus’ longest tenure was with Station Casinos, where he served as VP assistant general manager for over seven years.

Before his foray into management positions, Rivers Casino Philadelphia’s general manager used to work as a dealer and table manager. He occupied such roles during his time with a list of companies and casinos, which include Pinnacle Entertainment, Beau Rivage Resort & Casino and Dubuque Casino BelleDubuque.

Althaus’ current promotion to general manager of the new Rivers Casino Philadelphia is with immediate effect, RSI noted. He is expected to manage the resort and ensure its smooth operations.

Althaus Is Looking Forward to Driving Success

Eric Althaus commented on his new position. He said that the Rivers Casino Philadelphia team is nothing short of amazing. Because of that, he is looking forward to working with the rest of the employees to continue the momentum the property currently has.

Our success is the direct result of the team’s hard work and dedication.

Rush Street Gaming’s chief executive officer, Tim Drehkoff, noted that the new appointee’s leadership skills and familiarity with the casino resort made him a perfect candidate for the position. Drehkoff believes that these qualities will allow for a seamless transition that will not interrupt the property’s key initiatives.

Meanwhile, the CEO praised the company’s team for the amazing job it has been doing:

Our entire Rivers Casino Philly team has been doing a terrific job. We’re looking forward to the upcoming unveiling of the much-anticipated Martorano’s Prime, along with other exciting projects in 2023.

Tim Drehkoff, CEO, RSI

Martorano’s Prime, which Drehkoff referenced, is an upcoming Italian-American Steakhouse that will provide Rivers Casino Philadelphia visitors with a new dining option. More food and beverage facilities are scheduled to open soon.

In other news, RSI just onboarded Bragg Gaming content in Pennsylvania.
