The American Gaming Association (AGA) has published a new survey on the upcoming Super Bowl LVIII. According to the association, a quarter of the American adult population (26%, or 68 million) is expected to wager a whopping $23.1 billion on the Big Game.

This figure would represent a significant increase from the $16 billion Americans wagered last year. The higher numbers were attributed to the increase in states where sports betting is now legal.

Based on a sample of 2,204 adults, the AGA concluded that 42.7 million American adults will likely place a traditional sports wager online, at a retail sportsbook or with a bookie. This represents a 41% increase from 2023.

In the meantime, 36.5 million are planning to bet casually with friends or as a part of a pool or squares contest, up 32% from 2023.

The AGA also pointed out that more and more bettors are now wagering with legal sports betting operators. According to the association 28.7 million adults, or 11% of the adult population, are planning to bet using a regulated US sportsbook.

The AGA also said that 47% of bettors are planning to bet on the Kansas City Chiefs against 44% planning to bet on the San Francisco 49ers.

Bill Miller Highlights the Importance of Player Protection

AGA’s president and chief executive, Bill Miller, commented on the figures, saying that America is experiencing record interest in wagering. He added that this means that player protection is more important than ever, which is why the AGA will continue prioritizing investment in responsible gambling tools.

In line with that, 75% of Super Bowl bettors have reported seeing responsible gambling messages. In addition, 47% of all American adults have heard or seen a responsible gambling ad at least one time in the past year, up from 40% in 2022.

During Super Bowl week, AGA’s Miller will join forces with ex-NFL professional and current Fox Sports Big Noon Kickoff host Mark Ingram II. The two will comment on the state of sports betting in the US and the importance of safer gambling.

Operators offering sports betting and gambling services across the globe have strict rules when it comes to data protection. The access of senior-level employees is monitored while the protection of intellectual property remains an important priority for developers within the gambling sector.

Now, a new report reveals that an Aristocrat employee is facing legal action over allegedly downloading more than 6,800 files from its services. As announced by the Associated Press, Dinh Toan Tran, a game designer with Aristocrat, is in hot water after the leading gaming operator filed a lawsuit, claiming he downloaded thousands of files.

The alleged incident dates back to December. In its lawsuit, the leading pokies developer claims Tran downloaded more than 6,800 files. With the lawsuit, Aristocrat seeks to recover the files.

During a court hearing last week, the company secured a search order from the Federal Court. Consequently, a property where Tran allegedly resided was searched. During the search, electronic devices such as tablets, laptops and external storage devices were seized.

The Court ordered Tran to provide the details needed to log in while at the same time asking him to reveal his whereabouts. Moreover, Tran was ordered not to delete or discard any documents, files or other intellectual property that may belong to the company. Experts are currently analyzing the information uncovered on the devices that were seized during the search that happened at a property located in western Sydney.

Analysis of the Information from the Seized Devices Continues

Ken Brotherson, is the lawyer representing the employee. He confirmed that his client wasn’t present when the search warrants were executed.

Federal Court Justice Yaseen Shariff explained that Aristocrat had a right to determine whether it was wrong or right about its suspicion of the downloaded files. He explained: “It seems to me everything has been done extremely professionally.”

It is yet to be confirmed if Tran indeed obtained any company files. Currently, it remains unclear what the essence of those files might be. Still, John Hennessy SC, Aristocrat’s barrister, informed the court on Thursday that a specific USB storage device is “the focus of the investigation.” Investigation and analysis of the files obtained during the searches continue.

The legal action comes after in December, Aristocrat announced the launch of its 3rd NFL-themed game, Overtime Cash. The launch reaffirmed the company’s successful relationship with the NFL and further expanded the portfolio of games for fans of the sport.

At the same time, Kaizen Gaming’s head of Live Casino, Christos Mavridis, explained that by adding the localized variant of the game to its portfolio, Betano has taken one more step toward its goal of offering “the most unforgettable sports betting and gaming experience” to its customers. At the end of November 2023, BetGames announced a similar branded Skyward agreement with Betway for African players.

BGaming is capitalizing on the Internet’s capybara craze with brand new capybara-themed instant win scratch games. The new suite of digital scratch cards is called Capymania and boasts three skins – yellow, green and orange.

Just like BGaming’s previous collection of scratch games, Scratch Alpaca, Capymania also sports a cute little mascot. The new game’s titular capybara invites players on a laidback adventure that provides them with chances to win mouth-watering prizes.

Capymania is a simple game that allows players to relax while scratching digital tickets. Still, Capymania sports several features such as auto-play and turbo mode features.

As mentioned, the game has three skins. The different skins offer a different level of winning potential and an increasingly dandier capybara. The leading provider of iGaming solutions, content and technology, powering online and land-based gambling operators, Bragg Gaming Group, announced a new partnership focused on the gambling sector in Brazil. On Thursday, the company revealed it joined forces with Superbet, agreeing to deliver its aggregation platform for the operator.

Besides going live with its aggregation platform, Bragg agreed to deliver third-party content for Superbet. In addition, the iGaming content and solutions supplier agreed to deliver titles from its proprietary portfolio, including games from its in-house studios, Indigo Magic and Atomic Slot Lab.

Ultimately, the new collaboration is expected to solidify Bragg’s presence in Brazil, a market that is estimated to hold significant potential. The announced deal comes ahead of the country’s much-anticipated gambling reform that may result in the regulation of online gambling, as well as online sports betting.

If lawmakers in the country continue their efforts, Brazil may become a major iGaming and betting market as early as 2024. Despite the efforts so far, earlier this month, Brazil’s Senate greenlighted sports betting but turned down online gambling after a majority of 37 members voted against iGaming and only 27 votes were in favor of the activity.

The Deal Brings Excitement to the Two Companies

Adam Shaw, Superbet’s chief revenue officer, spoke about the potential of the gambling sector in Brazil. He explained that once the market opens for licensed operators, the company anticipates offering supreme online gambling experiences. Finally, Shaw said: “Bragg’s aggregation platform supplies us with a diverse portfolio of proprietary and exclusive content as well as games from the industry’s most popular providers and we are thrilled to partner with them in Brazil.”

We have already seen tremendous growth with Superbet through aggregation partnerships in several countries, and this Brazilian launch is another important milestone which throws a spotlight on Bragg’s position as a leading supplier in this fast-growing iGaming market.

Last but not least, Nemec pointed out: “We offer a wide portfolio of casino content that has already proven popular with local audiences in LatAm, and this partnership will further our ambitious growth plans for the region which will be a key focus for us in 2024.”

Previously, Bragg and Superbet collaborated for different markets across Europe. At the time, Bragg agreed to power the gaming operator’s brands in Belgium, as well as Serbia.
