Kambi, a B2B provider of sports betting services, has reported that the arrival of the soccer legend Lionel Messi at Inter Miami has led to an unprecedented spike in Major League Soccer betting activity.

As reported by the sports betting specialist, the popularity of Inter Miami and the MLS as a whole has skyrocketed, leading to a whopping 33% increase in bets on the MLS compared to 2022. This announcement comes ahead of the MLS Cup this weekend and highlights the growing growth of soccer and betting in the US.

For reference, Lionel Messi, who previously helped Argentina win the FIFA 2022 World Cup, joined Inter Miami in July, revitalizing interest in the MLS and MLS betting among Kambi’s operator partners.

Messi’s contribution to Inter Miami is not surprising considering the soccer star’s immense popularity. The player quickly cemented himself as the most bet on player in the MLS over the past four years, exceeding the bets on Denis Bouanga, the second most bet on player, by a whopping 140%.

Kambi’s head of soccer, Jonathon Hurst, commented on Messi’s contribution to the MLS, saying that it is a “landmark moment” the importance of which cannot be understated. According to Hurst, the popularity of Inter Miami is poised to explode even further as Messi is about to be joined by his former Barcelona teammate Luis Suarez.

Hurst added that Messi has an undisputable global appeal that will continue to positively affect his team.

Messi’s global appeal and star power have captured the attention of fans worldwide, and this has translated into a significant increase in betting engagement on MLS matches.

Napoli Desperate to Improve Their Home Stats

In the past, Napoli’s stadium was their fortress when they lost rarely. This season, however, they’re 2-1-3 at home in the Serie A. To make things even worse, they’re without a single win at Stadio Diego Armando Maradona since September.

The last time they played in Naples, they lost 1-0 to Empoli, a team that’s sitting in the relegation zone. What happened in that game was that they just couldn’t get on target despite making 18 attempts. In comparison, Empoli’s players made 10 fewer.

The reason why they failed to score is that their best striker Victor Oshimen was out with an injury. He made his comeback since but is yet to start a game. That, however, is something that’s likely to happen on Sunday.

Will this make Napoli more dangerous? Probably, but finding the net against Serie A’s best defense won’t be easy.

Nerazzurri to Show They’re Serie A Title Material

Inter Milan is 10-2-1 this season, with its only loss in the Italian Serie A happening back in September. “I Nerazzurri” are great offensively, scoring 30 goals so far, which is more than any other team in the league. The man they need to thank for this is Lautaro Martinez, the current scoring leader in the Serie A.

The boys from Milan are also great at the back. So far, they’ve conceded just seven goals, which accounts for roughly a goal every two games. This makes their defense the best in the league.

Knowing this, it’s kind of surprising that they conceded three goals to Benfica in the Champions League on Wednesday, all of which were scored by their former playmaker Joao Mario.

The explanation behind this is that Inter’s starting goalkeeper Yann Sommer didn’t play in that game. But the Swiss goalie will come back on Sunday.

Napoli vs. Inter Prediction

This is going to be a real spectacle. Both teams are incredibly motivated to win, with Inter being the team with player quality on its side. This, however, doesn’t mean the visitors will necessarily win. After all, the game is played in Naples, where the Sky Blues will get amazing support from the stands.

Whatever happens in the remainder of the season, FC Cincinnati will stay at the top of the Eastern Conference table. This means that they can relax on Saturday. This also means that their coach can keep some of his key men sidelined in order to ensure they remain 100% fit for the 2023 playoffs.

He did something like that earlier this week against the New York Red Bulls, the result of which was that Cincy lost 2-1.

‘Unique Match-Day Experience’

The partnership with Inter Miami will see Venuetize utilize its capabilities, including mobile wallet, content, ticketing integrations, sports betting, gamification, parking, in-seat delivery options, and others to enhance the club’s mobile strategy and provide its fans with a refreshed experience.

Commenting on the new partnership, Everi’s executive vice president and FinTech Business leader, Darren Simmons, outlined the platform’s in-built capabilities “to reach club supporters wherever they are with best-in-class marketing support.

“Our collective goal is to deliver a unique match-day experience that engages supporters at greater levels, all while giving them a platform to directly interact with the numerous offerings from the club,” Simmons said.

Everi Holdings acquired Venuetize last year to expand beyond casino gaming and broaden the range of its mobile capabilities with the platform’s mobile-first technology. By that time, the roster of Venuetize partnerships included more than 50 sports teams associated with the MLB, MLS, NBA, NHL, and National Women’s Soccer League, as well as multiple retail and entertainment districts.
