This is not to say that luck didn’t have something to do with it. Drake, real name Aubrey Drake Graham, has been known in gambling circles as the man who usually ends up losing a lot of money on his gambling antics.

Denver Nuggets Bet Fetches Drake a Hefty Payout

Not this time, as the $1.25 million the rapper placed actually fetched him $830,000 after he bet on the Denver Nuggets to beat the Miami Heat in the NBA Championship, which consists of five games. The rapper placed two separate bets on the Nuggets to beat the Heat, one of which was a $1 million wager on Denver to win the series entirely. He was looking at a $230,000 return from this bet alone, so a rather high risk all in all.

The second bet he placed was a $250,000 that Miami Heat would not win more than a game, with the Nuggets closing the series cleanly and yielding him a $600K return. Put it all together, and the rapper ended up claiming a whopping $830,000. Drake has been known to miss the mark on quite a few events.

He lost his $400,000 wager on Jake Paul to beat Tommy Fury, cousin to the all-time best heavyweight boxer, Tyson Fury. Drake also lost $2 million on Israel Adesanya to successfully defend his title against Alex Pereira. Those sports, though, Drake did not understand too much.

Basketball has been his passion, as Drake is a common heckler on the sidelines of most NBA games. However, his gambling habits have been mostly called a “curse” due to the rapper’s overconfidence in placing large amounts of money that he subsequently lost.

All of the wagers, including his winnings during his most recent gambling session, were placed with Stake.com, a brand that he cherishes and enjoys betting with. Drake has also been caught betting on roulette at Stake.com. Another notorious bet he placed was on Conor McGregor, the firebrand UFC fighter to win against Khabib Nurmagomedov in the UFC Lightweight Championship – a grossly miscalculated bet as well.

Nikola Jokic Keeps Writing the Denver Nuggets History

On Wednesday, the two-time NBA MVP Nikola Jokic recorded another triple-double, scoring 32 points, 21 rebounds, and 10 assists. He absolutely destroyed the opposition, helping the Nuggets win 109-94. It was his second triple-double in the 2023 NBA Finals.

Actually, the only time he didn’t record a triple-double, Jokic made a double-double, scoring 41 points along the way. It happened in Game 2, in which Jokic was pretty much the only Denver player who put on a show. This explains why the Nuggets ended up losing the game.

In the third game of the NBA Finals, he had the help of Jamal Murray, who scored 34 points and made 10 assists and as many rebounds. Aaron Gordon was also very good that evening, as well as Christian Braun and a few others. If they’re going to make it 3-1 on June 9, they will need to put on at least as equally good performance.

The Heat Need to Win Game 4

It’s very important for the Miami Heat to win on Friday evening and make it 2-2 in the 2023 NBA Finals. Why? Because after Game 4, the series moves back to Ball Arena in Denver. And that’s where the Nuggets are nothing short of amazing. In fact, they’ve lost just one home game in the 2023 postseason.

The loss in question, however, happened to the Heat. Still, it was a very narrow loss, meaning that the Heat mustn’t rely on that game. Instead, they need to focus entirely on Game 4.

They’ll have their fans to support them from the stands of Kaseya Center, but what needs to worry them is that the same was the case in the previous game. They played in front of their crowd, but the Nuggets absolutely outplayed them on Wednesday.

Phoenix Suns Have Great History Against Denver Nuggets

In the 2022-23 season, the Suns played against the Nuggets on five occasions, winning two of those. It doesn’t seem too impressive, but both of those wins happened relatively recently – in their last two meetings. One happened on the last day of March (100-93), while the other was on April 6 (119-115).

What’s interesting is that both of those victories happened in Phoenix. In fact, this team has a great record against the Nuggets in games played at Footprint Center. On the road, however, it’s a bit different story.

In fact, the Suns lost each of their three previous games played in Denver. Plus, they did not do too great against other opponents on the road as well. In the regular season, their away record was 17-24. In comparison, their home record was 28-13.

Still, we did see them put on two brilliant performances on the road in the playoffs. They destroyed the Los Angeles Clippers in both of the games played in California.

Another Great Offensive Display Expected from Denver Nuggets

The Denver Nuggets got to the West Semis after beating the Timberwolves 3-1 in the series. The only loss they suffered happened after overtime. In that game, we saw the Nuggets score just 96 points in regulation. Actually, they’ve been scoring modestly since the start of the postseason, with their best performance being 122 points in Game 2.

The reason behind this isn’t that they’ve suddenly become bad in the offense. It’s just that they were playing against one of the best defensive teams in the league. But this time, it’s going to be different. Against the Nets, they’re bound to do much, much better scoring-wise.

It’s not just because the boys from Arizona tend to concede a relatively high number of points, but also because Denver’s key men have entered a beast mode. The reigning NBA MVP Nikola Jokic has been sensational, and so has Jamal Murray.

At home, the Nuggets look capable of beating any other team. We think they’re going to beat the Suns. And we think it’s going to be a big one. We’re probably going to witness a lot of points on both ends, with the Nuggets scoring just enough to cover the spread.
