Edgewater Casino Resort in Nevada unveiled a new two-day bingo event set to take place in November. The $200,000 River Bingo Bash will, according to the property, take bingoing to the next level.

The two-day event will begin on Saturday, November 23 and will conclude on Sunday, November 24. It will offer players a shot at a prize pool of $100,000 on each of the two days, while also providing guests with a weekend filled with food, gifts and entertainment.

The event is set to take place at the famed Edge Pavilion at Edgewater. Each of the two days will begin with ten warm-up games where winners will get $500. Following the warm-up, players will compete for what Edgewater described as “massive payouts” in the main event.

After the final session, Edgewater will host an afterparty event at the Edgewater Bingo Room. There, players will get chances to win free bingo and slot play, coverall prize games, cash balls and bingo buy-in fees.

Many Benefits Await

Bingo players who are up to some fun will have to pay a fee of $200 + taxes to enter the River Bingo Bash. This fee will ensure that players receive a 6-on pack and a hot dog and soda combo on each day of the event. Additionally, players will receive 2 daubers and a commemorative River Bingo Bash t-shirt, securing them extra bragging rights.

In addition to all that, players who buy into the event will be able to benefit from a special room offer. Those who secure a stay at Aquarius or Edgewater Casino Resorts from November 22 or 23 through November 24 will receive an additional night’s stay, free of charge. 

Tickets for the River Bingo Bash event will be available for purchase from June 1. The bingo event will have a maximum capacity of 1,000 players

Harrah’s Cherokee Valley River has unveiled a 25,000 sq. ft. expansion of its casino floor, marking a substantial milestone in the $275 million development project. This significant addition introduces a diverse selection of gaming options to North Carolina bettors, elevating the casino’s offerings to new heights. The venue is one of three currently offering retail sports betting in the state.

Guests Can Enjoy Exciting New Experiences

The expanded casino floor now boasts 300 new slot machines and eight additional table games, providing guests with an extensive selection of gaming experiences. Located just an easy drive from Atlanta and Chattanooga, Harrah’s Cherokee Valley River Casino & Hotel is not only an exciting destination for games in the Western North Carolina region but also a superb accommodation option for overnight visitors. 

However, 2024 is going to see the venue expand even more thanks to an upcoming $275 million construction project that will bring an expanded 25,000 square foot gaming floor for players, a hotel tower with 296 rooms, and a massive parking deck with 1,500 spaces. 

The exciting expansion project was initiated on September 29, closely following the casino’s seventh anniversary.

According to Harrah’s Cherokee Valley River’s general manager, Lumpy Lambert, the highly-anticipated expansion project he had envisioned years ago is expected to generate revenue for the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians (EBCI). 

At the same time, the project is expected to assist “tribal distribution for enrolled members and job opportunities”. 

Representatives of general contractor Robins & Morton along with GM Lambert took a tour of the new sites that will host 400 brand new slot machines next year, together with one dozen table games, a casino bar that will count 22 seats, and a World Series of Poker poker room with 10 seats. 

Lambert expressed his content regarding the progress of the project whose necessity was identified eight years ago when the venue opened its gates to the world. 

While “looking forward to the opportunity to grow and expand”, Lambert also projected 100 fresh incremental positions and further emphasized their main goals to support tribal programming and distribution for the EBCI.

Local Artists to Help Maintain Cultural Integration 

The upgrade will include a series of specific design elements showcasing the Cherokee culture to maintain the cultural integration of Harrah’s Cherokee Casinos.

With this idea in mind, the project will hire local artists whose role will be to “infuse the culture” as best as possible. 

The new gaming floor is expected to become available for casino patrons and guests alike by the middle of 2024. 

The parking deck will shortly follow, with an estimated opening time scheduled for the summer of 2024. Finally, the new hotel tower will become available to the public toward the end of next year. 

For the time being, the River Tower provides 300 spacious guest rooms endowed with state-of-the-art amenities conveniently located right next to the gaming space. The venue is also home to UltraStar, a bowling alley and arcade that packs numerous family-friendly gaming options.

Osage River Gaming and Convention (ORGC) has joined forces with Bally’s Corporation for a new casino project at Lake of the Ozarks, Missouri’s premier lake resort destination. The former company is currently working hard on getting its Osage River casino project approved.

The involvement of Bally’s in the project was revealed in a letter from ORGC to the City of Lake Ozark a few days ago. The letter also outlines the gaming group’s planned location for the casino, noting that it would take roughly 20 acres of the 90-acre Eagles’ Landing Phase 4 property. ORGC’s letter also noted that the rest of the area would be redeveloped as a hotel with a convention center, restaurants and shops.

For reference, Eagles’ Landing is a Gary Prewitt-operated development zone on both sides of Highway 54, on the edge of Lake Ozark. Currently, one side of the Eagles’ Landing property sports a variety of shops. The other side, where the Phase 4 parcel is situated, is a quarrying operation.

ORGC Is Not Obliged to Do an Actual Riverboat Casino

In any case, ORGC is not obliged to go for a traditional riverboat casino. While Missouri law is centered on riverboat casinos, it also allows them to be built on the shore, as long as they fulfill a number of requirements. For reference, Missouri defines legal casinos as “excursion gambling boats.” However, the state interprets this term rather broadly and, in 2021, amended the definition to include “nonfloating facilities.”

Despite that, casino operators should still have a few rules in mind. As mentioned, excursion gambling boats can be on the shore, as long as they are within 1,000 feet of the Missouri or Mississippi River (the Eagles’ Landing Phase 4 is within 1,000 of the edge of the Osage River floodplain).

In addition, casino facilities must be licensed by the Missouri Gaming Commission. The state currently has only 13 licenses, all of which are handed out to various companies. Finally, gambling properties must have at least 2,000 gallons of water inside or underneath the facility in rigid or semi-rigid containers, tanks or structures.

However, ORGC would still have to secure an amendment that would allow it to build a property on the Osage River.
