Juventus Needs to Keep Winning to Stay in the Title Race

Ahead of the 18^th round of the 2023-24 Serie A, Juventus is sitting in second spot in the standings, with four points behind Inter Milan. The good news for the boys from Turin is that they’ve been playing fantastic soccer over the last couple of months, being undefeated since September.

Another thing going in their favor is that they’re without a single loss at home in Serie A this season. Further, they have a very good record against AS Roma at Allianz Stadium in Turin, winning eight of their last 10 duels.

What’s not going in their favor is that they’re going to miss many first-team players in Saturday’s game. Andrea Cambiaso is suspended, the same as Nicolo Fagioli. Further, Alex Sandro, Mattia De Sciglio, and Moise Kean are out with injuries, while Manuel Locatelli and Federico Chiesa are listed as questionable.

Can AS Roma Slay Another Serie A Giant?

AS Roma is fifth in the 2023-24 Serie A standings with an 8-4-5 record. In their most recent game, they defeated Napoli 2-0, which may seem like a great achievement. However, there’s a caveat – Napoli played without two players who got red-carded.

Before winning against Napoli, AS Roma lost 2-0 to Bologna on the road. And before that game, they drew 1-1 with Fiorentina. Knowing all this, it’s clear that these guys aren’t in great form. They probably know this, which is why they probably don’t plan to go for a win on Saturday.

Instead, we could see AS Roma “park the bus” in front of their goal and try to get themselves a point. Their coach Jose Mourinho is an expert when it comes to defensive tactics, so, who knows, it might work on them.

Our prediction for Saturday’s Juventus vs. AS Roma Serie A game is that the home team will win. Juventus is just better than AS Roma even with all those absentees. They will probably win, but we’re not sure they’re going to score a lot of goals as the visitors are likely to defend with all they’ve got.

Things are heating up in the 2023-24 Italian Serie A, where (at least) four teams still dream of the title. Inter Milan is sitting at the top of the table with 32 points right now, which is two more than Juventus, as well as six more than third-place AC Milan, and eight more than the reigning champion Napoli.

That’s why Sunday’s Napoli vs. Inter game is of incredible importance. Losing the game could mean losing the shot at defending the title for Napoli. And in the case of Inter losing, the race for the trophy could get much, much more exciting.

Napoli Desperate to Improve Their Home Stats

In the past, Napoli’s stadium was their fortress when they lost rarely. This season, however, they’re 2-1-3 at home in the Serie A. To make things even worse, they’re without a single win at Stadio Diego Armando Maradona since September.

The last time they played in Naples, they lost 1-0 to Empoli, a team that’s sitting in the relegation zone. What happened in that game was that they just couldn’t get on target despite making 18 attempts. In comparison, Empoli’s players made 10 fewer.

The reason why they failed to score is that their best striker Victor Oshimen was out with an injury. He made his comeback since but is yet to start a game. That, however, is something that’s likely to happen on Sunday.

Will this make Napoli more dangerous? Probably, but finding the net against Serie A’s best defense won’t be easy.

Nerazzurri to Show They’re Serie A Title Material

Inter Milan is 10-2-1 this season, with its only loss in the Italian Serie A happening back in September. “I Nerazzurri” are great offensively, scoring 30 goals so far, which is more than any other team in the league. The man they need to thank for this is Lautaro Martinez, the current scoring leader in the Serie A.  

The boys from Milan are also great at the back. So far, they’ve conceded just seven goals, which accounts for roughly a goal every two games. This makes their defense the best in the league.

Knowing this, it’s kind of surprising that they conceded three goals to Benfica in the Champions League on Wednesday, all of which were scored by their former playmaker Joao Mario.

The explanation behind this is that Inter’s starting goalkeeper Yann Sommer didn’t play in that game. But the Swiss goalie will come back on Sunday.

Napoli vs. Inter Prediction

This is going to be a real spectacle. Both teams are incredibly motivated to win, with Inter being the team with player quality on its side. This, however, doesn’t mean the visitors will necessarily win. After all, the game is played in Naples, where the Sky Blues will get amazing support from the stands.

Napoli is without a home loss to Inter since their stadium was renamed in honor of Diego Maradona. We think that won’t change this Sunday. Instead, we think the most likely outcome is that we’ll see a draw.

Italy’s Lega Serie A unveiled the revision of its betting rights. The top-flight soccer division will tender rights for the 2024/25 season to international data suppliers. For reference, rights for the Lega Serie A have been held by Stats Perform since 2021.

Serie A drafted nine packages labeled A to F(c). Each package covers a different aspect of the betting rights, with Package A being the most appealing to international betting data suppliers.

Also known as the International Sports Betting Package, Package A focuses on audiovisual rights, as well as match and coach data. It covers all approved countries outside of Italy, making it very appealing to global data companies.

Package B, or the Sports Betting Package Italy, on the other hand, covers match data and coach data for the Italian market. Because of the prominence of the Italian gambling market, local companies are likely to be very interested in this package as well.

Meanwhile, Packages C-E cover media data, sports betting tracking data and media tracking data.

The final package, Package F, is split into three sub-packages that cover data included in other packages. Thus, Package F(a) encompasses the data included in A and B. F(b), on the other hand, covers A, B and D. Finally, F(c) combines the rights outlined in Package C and E.

Companies Must Be Mindful of the Rules

While licensees will be allowed to use the rights to form partnerships, they are not permitted to use imagery of Serie A athletes, staff and logos. Licensees can also sign sub-licensing agreements only if explicitly authorized by the terms of their license.

Once a company is approved for a betting rights package, it must accept responsibility for managing the rights. In addition, it also has to pay a security deposit of 15% of the license fee. After that, the approved firm must pay the remainder of the license fee in three installments.

The first installment must be paid by July 1, 2024, with the other two to follow on November 1, 2024, and March 1, 2025. The same payment timeframe will be used in the following years as well, the league noted.

Licensed companies must commit to providing monthly updates to Serie A, informing the league of the top 10 markets in terms of gross gaming revenue. Licensees must also provide the league with player behavior data and information on Serie A’s performance compared to other Italian sports leagues.
