Light & Wonder Incorporated and Everi Digital expand their long-term partnership and take it to the next level through a new deal. The partnership with Everi Digital, Everi Holdings Incorporated’s online gaming business, will allow Light & Wonder to expand across new markets in the UK, Europe, and Latin America.

Global expansion

Light & Wonder’s fans in the UK will be happy to hear that new games from Everi Digital’s impressive portfolio will be available to them through an advanced Light & Wonder online ecosystem.

When it comes to European expansion, the Italian players will get a chance to try some of Everi Digital’s games in the summer of 2024, while other countries will follow the lead and get access by the end of 2024.

Besides the European market, the companies will expand to South America, where the players will be able to enjoy thrilling Everi Digital’s titles from the first quarter of 2024.

Everi Holdings Incorporated became a leader in the industry when it came to providing both land-based and online casinos with fantastic content and advanced products such as financial technology services, player loyalty solutions, and bingo. Light & Wonder, one of the world’s most important suppliers of software and content for online casinos, has announced it reached an agreement with 1X2 Network, a supplier of online casino games, to distribute its content in the United States.

The first state to witness the aggregation of content from 1X2 Network into the Light & Wonder platform is going to be Michigan, but the near future could see the deal expand to more American states.

The aggregation platform developed by Light & Wonder is one of the most powerful iGaming distribution tools in the United States and the global gaming giant has signed several agreements with game studios to distribute their content. In October 2023 Light & Wonder announced the launch of live casino content from Authentic Gaming, a company which it had acquired in 2021, in the state of Michigan.

Light & Wonder, previously known as Scientific Games, is one of the most powerful cross-platform gaming companies. The conglomerate has three complementary businesses and a team which comprises over 6,000 people.

1X2 Network offers a wide range of online casino gaming content, including slot games, virtual sports games, instant win titles and crash games. The company has four separate studios: 1X2gaming, Iron Dog Studio, Prospect Gaming and Ad Lunam. The company already had a partnership with Light & Wonder in Europe and now the collaboration has expanded to North America.

Exciting Partnership

Speaking about the collaboration with Light & Wonder, Kevin Reid, the Chief Executive Officer of 1X2 Network, declared himself “excited” to have such an aggregation partner and said that this represents an extension of an already “fruitful relationship.”

The 1X2 Network Chief Executive Officer also mentioned that Michigan is just the start of the two companies’ collaboration in the United States, saying that “work is already well underway in other states.”

In a victory for Las Vegas hospitality workers, the Culinary Workers Union announced a groundbreaking tentative deal with Caesars Entertainment, potentially averting a city-wide strike. 

Historic Caesars Deal Ushers in New Era of Workers’ Rights in Las Vegas

The deal, described as “historic” by union leaders, includes substantial wage increases in the first year, along with enhanced healthcare and pension benefits. One of the most noteworthy aspects of the agreement is the reduction in workload for housekeepers, marking the first such change in three decades. Additionally, the union successfully negotiated language enabling them to support non-union workers on the Las Vegas Strip, a move seen as a crucial win for workers’ rights.

The news of the Caesars deal has sent ripples of hope through the city, with many workers celebrating the breakthrough. However, the threat of a strike still looms large as negotiations with MGM Resorts International and Wynn Resorts remain unresolved. If agreements are not reached by the looming deadline on November 10, nine casino resorts employing 25,000 workers could be affected, posing a significant challenge to the city’s bustling tourism industry.

MGM has expressed optimism about reaching an agreement and has promised the largest pay increase in its history of contracts with the unions. However, the financial implications of these agreements are substantial, with every 1% increase in wages translating to millions in additional labor costs for the casino operators.

Las Vegas Workers Set Example Amidst National Labor Movement

The Culinary and Bartender unions have been engaged in talks with the casinos for seven months, with 95% of their members voting to authorize a city-wide strike in September. The negotiations have been emblematic of the larger trend in the United States, where unions are pressing employers for better pay and benefits amid a shortage of workers.

As Las Vegas prepares for high-profile events like the Formula 1 Las Vegas Grand Prix, the outcome of these negotiations will not only impact the livelihoods of thousands of workers but also the city’s bustling tourism sector. Tiffany Thomas, a guest room attendant at Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino and a member of the Culinary Union for 17 years, expressed her determination, saying: “I am willing to go on strike because I have a 10-year-old daughter who comes to negotiations with me and she is going to inherit all of this. I refuse to sit back and watch what we’ve built crumble. I want my daughter to look at me and know I fought for a better future.”
