Online casino powerhouse Stake.com has formed a partnership with Enteractive, a leader in player conversion and reactivation. Under the agreement, the latter party will support Stake’s existing CRM services with bespoke reactivation campaigns.

The online gambling operator seeks to win back players and optimize its revenue. To that end, Enteractive’s campaigns will focus on the reactivation of lapsed audience segments. The reactivation specialist will leverage its personalized approach to audience outreach to allow Stake.com to tap into the “churned segments” of its player base.

Enteractive, which boasts some 15 years of experience in conversion and reactivation, is widely considered to be among the top revenue generators in the global online casino sector. The company was founded in 2008 and has since engaged millions of players.

In 2023 alone, Enteractive interacted with over 8.1 million players and generated more than €59 million ($63 million) for global operators, from almost €263 million ($282 million) in deposits.

Enteractive leverages an in-house (Re)Activation Cloud technology platform to quickly and seamlessly integrate selected player bases. The company also employs native-speaking agents who allow operators to reach players in multiple jurisdictions. The outreach is done through one-to-one phone conversations, optimizing the effectiveness of Enteractive’s solutions.

Data shows that Enteractive converts some 16,000 players each month.

Enteractive Will Reactivate Dormant Stake Accounts

Enteractive’s business-to-business sales executive, Kelly Briffa, commented on the agreement, promising that her team’s commitment to real one-to-one conversations will help Stake.com tap into hard-to-reach segments. Briffa is certain that Enteractive will help the operator achieve the desired results.

Our sustainable approach, seamless integration, and solid returns show that conversion or reactivation campaigns should not be overlooked. Each call adds value to both the player’s brand experience and bottom line revenues.

Kelly Briffa, B2B sales executive, Enteractive

Jarrod Febbraio, Stake.com’s director of commercial, also commented on the matter, praising Enteractive for its “specialized approach in re-engaging distinct player segments for sports betting and iGaming brands.” Febbraio added that the one-to-one approach has proven to be very effective in transforming non-funded and dormant player accounts.

We’re excited to see this collaboration maximize the Lifetime Player Value (LPV) for these segments, optimizing our active players, and ultimately increasing bottom line revenues.

A few weeks ago, Stake.com also teamed up with Racing and Sports (RAS) Technology Holdings, which agreed to power the operator’s horse racing offering.

A few days ago, Stake.com, one of the biggest online operators in the world, suffered a devastating cyberattack, losing a whopping $41.35 million in cryptocurrencies in the process. This forced the company to temporarily halt withdrawals and implement measures to ensure the funds of its users are safe.

Stake.com resumed its services a few hours later. Beosin later provided details about the money Stake.com lost, noting that the first transaction on Ethereum was $3.9 million in stablecoin Tether. Another $9.8 million in Ether, $1.1 million in USD Coin and $900,000 in Dai were also withdrawn.

In the meantime, the cyberattack also targeted Polygon and BNB Smart Chain, resulting in the withdrawal of $7,825,000 and $17,825,540, respectively.

Following a swift investigation, the United States’ Federal Bureau of Investigation has now announced that the one behind the attack is the infamous Lazarus Group, a notorious group of hackers and cybercriminals from the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea.

The FBI also listed the virtual currency addresses the stolen Stake.com money was transferred to. The data is available on the agency’s official website.

The Lazarus Group Is Notorious for Its Attacks

The FBI noted that the Lazarus Group is also responsible for other high-profile international virtual currency heists. The agency noted that this year alone has seen DPRK cyber actors steal more than $200 million. For reference, this includes the $60 million of virtual currency stolen from Alphapo and CoinsPaid in July, as well as approximately $100 million of virtual currency stolen from Atomic Wallet in June.

In addition to the recent thefts, the FBI has also previously provided information about the attacks against Harmony’s Horizon bridge and Sky Mavis’ Ronin Bridge. The Lazarus Group was also sanctioned in 2019 by the Office of Foreign Assets of the US Department of Treasury.

The FBI noted that a cybersecurity advisory is available on TraderTraitor. The body urged private sector companies to review the advisory and remain wary when dealing with one of the addresses now listed on its website.

In the meantime, the FBI remains committed to combating the DPRK’s use of cybercrime. The agency slammed the hacker’s efforts to steal virtual currency to fuel the regime.

Stake.com has confirmed they have been hacked, with the Lazarus Group the prime suspect.

The Lazarus Group, notorious for its cyber attacks and believed to be linked to North Korea, is under the spotlight once more after a high-profile Australian-based casino was hacked.

This Lazarus Group allegedly pilfered $41 million in digital assets from the cryptocurrency casino and sports betting website Stake.com, as disclosed by the FBI on Thursday.

Stake.com, endorsed by celebrity Drake, previously labelled the incident as a series of transactions as “unauthorized transfers.” In the wake of this cyber onslaught, they quickly informed their user base that an in-house investigation was being initiated.

Detailing its findings, the FBI released addresses of numerous digital wallets suspected to hold the stolen funds. The bureau shared that the Lazarus Group meticulously moved the stolen cryptocurrency through various platforms.

The Lazarus Group’s modus operandi appears consistent with their prior activities. The FBI highlighted the parallels between this heist and other recent significant thefts. Notably, they reportedly pilfered $100 million from Atomic Wallet in June, followed by a staggering $60 million from Aplhapo and CoinsPaid projects in July.

Their illicit activities have caused significant disruption in the crypto landscape. The analytics powerhouse, Elliptic, announced in June that the Lazarus Group’s cumulative thefts amounted to an astronomical $2 billion in digital assets.

In an alarming disclosure last year, the US Treasury Department connected the dots between the Lazarus Group and a $622 million hack. This exploit targeted the Ronin Network, an Ethereum sidechain instrumental for the crypto game Axie Infinity, marking it as one of the grandest digital heists ever.

The Lazarus Group has continuously evolved its tactics to stay undetected. Its interactions have significantly affected Tornado Cash, a coin-mixing protocol. Touted as a privacy-centric tool by its proponents, Tornado Cash fell under the scrutiny of the Treasury Department. Last year, it faced allegations of aiding in the laundering of a whopping $7 billion in cryptocurrency.

Upholding these restrictions, a federal court in July deemed the usage of Tornado Cash illegal in the U.S. Furthermore, the U.S. Justice Department made a significant arrest in August, detaining one of the co-founders of the protocol.

Roman Storm, the arrested individual, now faces a slew of charges. These include conspiracy to commit money laundering, transgressing sanctions, and orchestrating an unlicensed money-transmitting operation.

Stake.com was founded by Australian entrepreneur Ed Craven with it quickly becoming one of the biggest crypto gambling websites that accepts sports bets and allows casino play.

Despite Stake.com having an office in Melbourne, the casino site is not accessible to Australians, with real money casinos generally homed overseas because there are no local licenses available.
