SOFTSWISS, the global provider of software and content for online casinos and sports betting websites, has released some tips for responsible gambling, in anticipation of the 2023 European Safer Gambling Week.

The company underlines that responsible gambling is a very important aspect of its activity, not only because of license requirements in various jurisdictions but also because it represents one of the core values of the business.

SOFTSWISS also revealed that internal audits have demonstrated that the company is committed to responsible gambling practices beyond compliance and that its employees receive ongoing training for adherence to such practices.

The company has an Anti-Fraud Team in place which is in charge of dealing with license requirements but also with ensuring in-house research when it comes to responsible gambling procedures. Only this year the company’s Anti-Fraud Team has already processed more than 26,000 requests regarding lockouts of problematic players or notifications regarding at-risk players.

Ilya Nesterov, the Lead of the Anti-Fraud Team, admitted that he has noticed a “steady increase in the number of players under monitoring” but revealed that the increase is due to the company’s “expanded analysis of information, indicators, and metrics.”

Nesterov added that the Anti-Fraud Team implements “dedicated monitoring segments, differentiated by factors such as age, duration and time of activity, day or night” in order to protect vulnerable players.

Helped By An Automatic Tool

SOFTSWISS has also created an automatic tool which can monitor players’ activity and detect suspicious behaviors. The tool also evaluates risk levels by leveraging various metrics and indicators.

The company has also listed the core principles that are guiding its responsible gambling practices:

Illegal gambling operators across the globe disrupt the operations of the legal sector, avoid paying taxes and in some cases are even related to groups tied to criminal activities. As such, governments and gambling regulators constantly monitor the online and retail sectors, fighting against illegal gambling. Japan, a country that seeks to reduce the number of illegal gambling operators and prevent other crimes, recently announced it will increase the rewards for anonymous crime reporting.

Earlier this week, the National Police Agency (NPA) in Japan, confirmed that it will increase the reward that anonymous crime tippers can receive. The current reward for anonymous reporting of crimes is set at 100,000 yen ($680). This sum is expected to change, starting from October 1, 2023, skyrocketing to the staggering 1 million yen ($6,800).

The reward would be applicable to people who report crimes and result in the discontinuation of illegal organizations. Crimes that can be reported via phone or online include illegal gambling, drugs, human trafficking, as well as prostitution, among others. Ultimately, the NPA anticipates detaining culprits involved in the so-called “dark jobs,” that involve different crimes, including robberies, thefts and even child prostitution. In addition to individuals, the law enforcement authorities will fight against mobile crime groups. Such groups are often gathered through social media and are involved in a variety of criminal activities.

Crime Tips Can be Submitted via Phone and Online

The tips can be submitted via an online platform in any language or by phone. People who want to receive more information or would like to submit a crime tip can call a toll-free service number in Japanese. A private organization will be responsible for the collection of the information which will then be reported to the NPA.

The increased reward for reporting crime tips comes after more than 27,000 tips were filed for the fiscal year 2022. The reported crime tips led to arrests in 45 different cases. Overall, some 530,000 yen ($3,600) was paid to informants for 11 different cases. A majority of the reported cases were related to drugs, among other crimes.

Scratch games are always designed in such a way that companies would earn more money than a jackpot winner would. Such games are usually not designed to benefit the average player. However, sometimes the first wave of sales doesn’t sell a winning ticket.

Since scratch games always have a winning ticket, it is easier to win the jackpot from a game that has not sold the big prizes early on. People in the United States can use online resources to see which states have games that are yet to sell their big prizes.

One of Garibaldi’s last pieces of advice was finding a game where players have to select a four-digit number in a six way box. This, he explained, provides players with a 1/1667 chance to win, which is extremely high by the lottery standards. A winning bet of this type usually would yield players $800.

You’ll probably lose money, just so you know. It is not a recipe for making money, but it is a recipe for getting to that lottery office with the least amount of effort.
