Online casino game developer, Play’n GO has secured a highly coveted Spanish gambling supplier license. The development furthers the Växjö, Sweden-based mobile and desktop developer’s recent strategy of focusing on Spain and players there. Several of the last quarters of business activity have seen growth in the region.
With certification from Spanish authorities, the company will now be able to self-certify games there and release them in Spain at the same time they go out in other regulated markets in Europe and elsewhere.
Adding a Spanish license to the company’s arsenal of certified gambling regions is a major step forward for the company that officially launched in 2017 after a decade of subcontractor work for other providers.
Spanish customers will not only be able to continue to enjoy their favorite Play’n GO titles but will now get them “hot off the press” without any undue delay as the new games hit the wider distribution network. The company is active in more than two dozen regulated jurisdictions and plans to release over 50 new titles in the 2023 calendar year.
Head of Sales and Account Management for Play’n GO, Magnus Thalin said: “We want to help our customers grow their businesses by retaining and engaging their players with exceptional content.
“Unlocking Play’n GO content in Spain will be the silver bullet for operators to help them do just that, and we’re excited about the future for our customers in Spain.
“With new game releases every week, we look forward to working closely with our customers in Spain to provide the best, and safest casino gaming experience for all players in the region.”
Sisal Launch Bolsters Italian Position
In other news, Play’n GO has also announced a partnership with Sisal, a leading Italian gambling operator. The market has become an important sector for the Swedish company with licenses in 25 regulated jurisdictions and this partnership marks a major achievement for the developer.
Play’n GO already work’s with Sisal’s parent company, Flutter Entertainment which announced the acquisition of the Italian gaming leader in late December 2021 and completed the €1.91bn purchase of the online gaming and lottery operator in August of the next year.
Players on the Sisal platform will now have access to games like Tower Quest and the company’s flagship title, Book of Dead along with many more popular games.
Play’n GO boss for LatAm and Southern Europe, Emilie Zamponi said: “Our partnership with Sisal is a hugely exciting one for Play’n GO as it further cements our position as the leading casino entertainment provider in the Italian region.
“This announcement means that Play’n GO now [has]

Newest Online Slot Slashimi – One of Fifty to be Released in 2023
With expansions into new markets in Europe and the Americas, Play’n GO plans to keep up the cadence of new game releases with as many as one each week in the following year, according to a note in a press release late last week.
The newest title to hit the internet tubes is Slashimi, a play on the Sushi Chef, his exceedingly sharp tool the blade, and the flavorful treat of thinly sliced raw meat or fish that is served without rice or other accompaniments.
As is the case with most slot game themes, this one “gets” the kitchen theme broadly but seems to rely on urban myth or lore mistakenly informing us that any sushi with fish is sashimi – but that’s okay.
The star of the slot is one Chef Jiro Miike who can slash most symbols on the reels into two, splitting them into more chances to win. Golden Soy wilds and Wasabi scatters are immune to his blade and skills. But take a look at all those stacked symbols! Splitting symbols can create up to 1,000 winning paths across the reels.
Land three of those wasabi scatters to trigger 5 free spins. Sliced (split) symbols in the free games round become “sticky” and remain in position for the duration of the bonus round. Land three more scatters on a free spin to pick up more free games.
George Olekszy is head of retention at Play’n GO – he said: “Slashimi’s Two-For-One symbols are the real main course.”
“We’ve got a fair few sweet-themed slots in our cupboard, so it was only right for us to gift fans with a savory main course. The splitting symbol mechanic is innovative. As the slot’s easy-to-follow, it’s great for newcomers, but also packs a lot of depth slot enthusiasts will appreciate.”
