SkillOnNet-and-Regency-Entertainment-secure-online-gambling-licence-in-GreeceA new online casino venture is set to enter the regulated Greek market following the joint licensing success of SkillOnNet and Regency Entertainment. The Hellenic Gaming Commission (HGC) has granted the partnership a Type 2 online gambling licence, enabling the upcoming launch of Regency Casino Online, a digital platform that merges gaming innovation with seasoned land-based operations expertise.

With this licence, the platform is authorized to provide a variety of gambling offerings to players in Greece, including online slots, live dealer tables, and interactive game formats. The venture combines SkillOnNet’s technological know-how in the global iGaming sector with Regency Entertainment’s established presence in the Greek casino and hospitality landscape.

New Platform to Combine Innovation and Local Trust

SkillOnNet, the operator behind globally recognized brands such as PlayOJO, BacanaPlay, and SpinGenie, has identified Greece as a key opportunity in its broader push toward expansion in regulated markets. Currently overseeing more than 30 online casinos across several jurisdictions, the company is reinforcing its European strategy by entering new territories through regional partnerships.

Regency Entertainment contributes its deep-rooted understanding of the Greek leisure market, managing well-known properties like Regency Casino Mont Parnes in Athens and the entertainment complex in Thessaloniki that houses Regency Casino Thessaloniki, the Hyatt Regency Hotel, and the Vergina Theatro. Together, the joint venture aims to translate this experience into a competitive digital product tailored for the Greek audience.

Executives Emphasize Strategic Growth and Player Experience

Maor Nutkevitch, SkillOnNet’s Senior Vice President of Corporate Development, highlighted the importance of the move, stating: “This new market for us, combined with Regency’s extensive experience, presents our first opportunity to provide Greek players with services designed to meet their needs for the first time, consistently evolving our product, always within the Greek legislative framework, with responsibility and reliability.” He added that “the new license underscores the company’s commitment to expanding into even more regulated gaming markets in Europe and worldwide.”

Echoing this sentiment, Regency Entertainment CEO Giannis Tsirikos noted that the venture stems from a shared vision between the two companies. He stated: “From the beginning of our strategic partnership, SkillOnNet and Regency shared a common vision: to offer an innovative entertainment experience to Greek players.” According to him, the licence represents progress toward that goal through a digital offering that reflects Regency’s offline standards: “An experience that reflects the quality of Regency’s land-based venues and services, and inspires the trust, transparency, and sense of safety that have allowed us to stand out in the preferences of Greek players. We are confident that our new digital product will exceed the expectations of the Greek public.”

Part of a Broader European Expansion Strategy

The licensing milestone follows other international moves by SkillOnNet, such as its recent market entry into Brazil, indicating the company’s intent to grow its footprint in regulated environments worldwide. By teaming up with a well-respected local operator like Regency, SkillOnNet strengthens its ability to adapt to regional demands while delivering premium digital entertainment through advanced platform capabilities.
